Hack: How To Convert ALL Ads To Call-Only Ads

$
0
0

Hey, what's up!

How are you? How have you been?

It's definitely been a while, but I'll keep this short and interesting.

Call-Only Ads On Adwords Kind of Suck

They have limited traffic, and seem to cost more than usual text-based ads.

call-only.JPG

Basically, Call-Only ads on Adwords are simple to make, but under-perform.

So what is the problem that MANY marketers have discovered?

  • Low # of impressions from Call-Only Ads
  • Higher costs for advertising on Adwords

Note: Learn How To Make Basic Call-Only Adwords Ads here <–

Text ads seem to completely dominate search traffic impressions.

call-only-Comparison.JPG

Text ads seem to completely dominate search traffic impressions (column on the far right).

I don't know why Google does this, since most smartphone users can make phone calls.

Results from Click-2-Call-Only Ads?

  • Your Adwords costs will be lower
  • Your CTR will be higher
  • You will get more phone calls to your Business, Offer, or whatever else you are promoting.

Call-Only On Everything?

So the challenge Is creating Smartphone Ads that act like Call-Only ads.

So when a user taps on your ad on their smartphone, they are led into a phone call, INSTEAD of a website.

call-only-text-ad-1.JPG

This is an example of a Text ad, that acts as a call-only ad on Adwords

Thus, you can now get MORE traffic and impressions, and make more money.

call-only-data.JPG

This table shows the number of calls from a single campaign, to multiple Call-ONLY ad types, including:

#1 – EXT – extension calls from Text-ad call extensions

#2 – CLICK – clicks on your TEXT ad that convert into a phone call

#3 – CO – default call-only ads

How Is The Call Quality & Results?

Click2Call Call Quality based on Durations

As you can see above, all ads now function as Call-Only ads, and even Click-2-Call-Only ads perform well.

‘Can I Test It Out First?'

Tap here on your phone: https://premium23.com/click-2-call-dialpad/

You will see a semi-blank page on your desktop.

So How Do I Convert ALL Ads to Call Only Ads?

I decided to write a post detailing how this is done, as well as including the tweaks that will avoid your ads from being disapproved by Adwords.

New Adwords Interface Pay Per Call Marketing Guide 6.0 For 2018

$
0
0

Hey, what's up?

How are you?

Just a month and a half ago, I released the 5.0 Guide to adwords pay per call marketing.

Well, Adwords continues to make changes to its interface, and this next change is a big one.

Their ‘BETA' interface has been under development for over 2 years now, and completely changes everything as far as how you make campaigns.

So without further delay, here is a tutorial on how to use the new interface, along with the latest adwords strategies to making campaigns.

New Adwords Interface Pay Per Call Marketing Guide 6.0 For 2018

What You Will Learn

  • Creating A Website Verification Conversion
  • Implement your Website Verification Code
  • Create A Campaign / Adgroup / Keywords
  • Create A Call-Only Ad
  • Create A Call Conversion
  • Create A Text Ad + Call Extension
  • Create Call-Out Extensions
  • Device Targeting

Bonus

  • Advanced Bid Adjustments For Calls: This is a new feature that allows your Call-Extension to show more often, if you pay more, of course.

Final Notes:

The Audience & Demographics Targeting

While not necessarily new to the NEW interface, I never really mentioned audience/demographics targeting within Search marketing, since this is relatively new (about 1 year or so).

In this case, you can target your search ads by GENDER & AGE.

And in the NEW interface, you can target by Household Income also!

This is good for marketers targeting lawyers, rehabilitation or travel offers, towards a certain income bracket.

For example, Hair restoration offers are more likely to convert for ages 25+, males, instead of females with similar queries.

The only MAJOR downside is a HUGE chunk of the demographics is labeled as UNKNOWN.

This takes up anywhere from 25-75% of the demographics data.

Advanced Bid Adjustments for Calls

This second feature allows you to increase your bid to show your ‘Call Extensions' for Text ads more often within search ads.

In theory this is great, but to me it feels more like a cash grab.

You need to pay MORE just to have your call-extension show up.

Regardless, I've already shown you how to convert all of your ads into Call-only ads regardless here:

Convert All Ads into Call-Only Ads

New Interface Performance

Since the new interface is still technically in beta, we can assume that performance speeds will increase.

The lag times are most noticeable during sliding-in animation motions.

The new interface was developed for simplicity, and responsiveness (mobile-optimization).

In retrospect, the old interface, looks and feels more like a complicated scientific tool.

As always, thanks for checking out this guide, and feel free to ask any questions you may have 🙂

Cheers

Leonidas

Adwords Account Suspended?

Getting suspended by Adwords is frustrating.

Whatever the reason for your suspension, the probability of getting your account back is less than 1%.

If you try to make a new account, it will be suspended within minutes, if not a few hours.

And Google is getting smarter about it as well.

So you need to be methodical with your process, and protect yourself as much as possible, in order to get back in the game.

And presumably, you will try to stay away from what you ran the first time, since this will be your second/third life.

Adwords Account Suspended?

I've created a 24 Minute Video on How To Overcome a Suspended Adwords Account.

The method is simple, yet must be followed almost precisely.

Hey what's up?

How are you?

I will admit to you,

I'm a huge nerd

For the last 7+ years, I've been tinkering away at dozens of Websites, using HTML, CSS, some PHP, using FTP's, occasionally SQL editing, setting up servers, etc etc.

If you don't know what any of those are, don't worry about it, they were all involved with ‘Technical Updates' with the website.

What I love about updating an APP on my phone or computer, or visiting a website, is learning about their latest Technical Changes, usually listed within the ‘Changelog'.

This was also going to be implemented back in August, since Premium23.com received a HUGE overhaul, and 2 REALLY big fixes.

But I personally love logging this stuff, and seeing the progress of a website/app/whatever. So let's begin:

Google Ads Call Extension Changes For 2019 & How To Overcome Them

$
0
0

You've probably been wondering what the latest Google Ads Call Extension changes mean and how they will affect you.

I've been bombarded with this same question on the:

So let's begin with some quick history of why this is happening…

A Quick Call Extension History (2011-2015)

Since 2011, it was the wild-west of Call-Only Ads on Google Ads (formerly Google Adwords).

You could basically use any domain on the internet for your ads, thus, you didn't need to create your own website to generate call traffic.

att-ad

Using FindtheBest.com (a now-defunct search engine) as my domain, and a phone number in the ad (2013-2014)

For example, your ad could display “amazon.com” or “yahoo.com” or “findthebest.com”, and the phone number would be your phone number.

This allowed you to use large brand names as a great way for people to trust your ad, and to click on it.

In theory, this works fine if you want to sell your physical products or services ‘ON' a website (you can still do this for websites),

But for call-ads, you could pretend to be another business altogether – which was bad for those brands.

googleads2014

Google Ads (Adwords) Call-ad creation process in 2013/2014

Then Came Website Verification (2015)

Then came the call-ad website verification, and a new type of Call-Only Ads.

googleads2015

Google Ads (Adwords) Call Ads in 2015

At this point, you could no longer use another another companies website as your domain in the ad-copy.

Now you had to verify the ads using ONE of two different ways:

  1. Having the Phone number listed on the website
  2. Adding the Google Ads verification code
googleadscreation2015

By 2016, we see an update to the ads for a new generation of wider mobile phones.

googlecallads2016

Google Ads (Adwords) Call-Only Ads in 2016

These types of ads pretty much remained the same since 2016, with minor visual adjustments, but nothing major.

Rampant Blackhat Tactics & Google Ban Hammer on Bad Players

By this point, Google also started (unfortunate very slowly) cracking down on a lot of niches and marketers that had been causing havoc in the Pay Per Call advertising space.

Google started running a massive termination campaign on trashy marketers that were running offers that LOOKED white-hat on the surface such as:

  • ‘Need Technical Support?' or ‘Windows Issues?'
  • ‘Seeking Addiction Advice' or
  • ‘Cheap Flight London To Cancun?'

But the back-end call centers were outsourced sharks on steroids, saying ANYTHING to get your credit card details…

Whether it was to charge you a ridiculous amount of money, or to just, outright, steal your money.

Techsupportcasestudy

Fake Technical support pop-ups that dominated 2014-2017

It was a terrible revelation in a marketing space that seemed to have so much potential (Pay Per Call).

Anyways,

Google Ads Call Extensions in 2019

In the mean time, the traffic on Google Mobile continues to grow, now taking up more than 65% of their TOTAL traffic.

As such, Google is continuing to improve their Call Extensions program with the following:

1. A REAL Business Name in the Google Call Ads Header

When Google included Business names for the first time, Your business name could literally be anything you wanted, whether it was ‘Find A Lawyer' or ‘Find a Dentist' or ‘Need a Lawyer?' or even ‘Microsoft Support'.

So the requirements now are:

Domain-based business names: You can use your domain name as your business name, using appropriate spacing between words. For example, www.acmesolutions.com could be identified as “Acme Solutions” in the ad.

Simply enough, register a domain name that has your desired branding in it. ‘FindaLawyer.me, FindaLawyer.club' etc for example.

Resellers and authorized dealers: If you are an authorized reseller or dealer for a product or service, use appropriate qualifying language. For example, a car dealer of Acme vehicles in San Antonio could use the business name “Acme of San Antonio.”

In this case, you would be able to use the <Title> HTML tags of your website as the business name.

The <TITLE></TITLE> tags in your HTML website code tell Google and your web browser the name of your page and/or website.

Service providers: Examples of other accepted business names include “Mountain View Plumbers” or “Taxi NYC.”

Same as above. Just make sure to include the business name somewhere on the page, or in the code.

2. Say Your Business Name At The Beginning of the Call

The call operator MUST state the business name in the beginning of the phone call now. This is to create greater transparency for callers, to know who the advertisers are.

We can assume Google has statistically analyzed the frequency of calls that contain the actual business name being said DURING the call, and has determined this is a high-probability marker of a legit business.

Thus you need to somehow include the business name in the call.

How do you deal with this as a marketer?

Create an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) that will answer with your business name during the first 10 seconds of the call, before redirecting to your product/offer/business.

Example: “Welcome to XYZ Business. If you are calling for a Lawyer, please press 1, if you are lost, please press 2, if you are just calling to troll us, please press 3.”

Customer presses 1… Is redirected to your product/offer/business.

Simple.

googlecallextensionads2019

The Game Will Continue To Evolve

These are not changes meant to hurt the legit white-hat players in the game.

If you've been running your call-only ads, for a real business for some time now, then these will have very little effect on you.

Instead, they are meant to filter out the blackhat players who continue to game the system.

I'm surprised at how many publishers ask me to run ‘Technical Support' or ‘Travel offers' or ‘Addiction center', or tips on how to run those types of ads, after they've been suspended.

My REAL Advice

If you are running ads to a legit business, then keep at it. You don't need to change anything.

On the other hand, if you are simply trying to find another way to game the system…

Then I recommend you stop, because your account WILL get suspended as Google's algorithms continue to improve (exponentially).

Whether it's through listening to the phone calls, measuring the risk of your account, or using humans to manually check your ads.

The tips I gave you to overcome the restrictions for 2019 will only work for so long before google catches up, so try to run legit offers, businesses, and products, if you can.

If you can't, then try to keep up, because things are only going to speed up

So,

On your marks… get set… go 😉

Leonidas

Help With A Google Ads Suspension & My History of Google Ads Suspensions

$
0
0

I'll make a confession… I have had over 60+ Google Ads (and Adwords) accounts suspended.

Part 1: A Brief History of My Google Ads Suspensions

The first suspension was back in 2012 when I first started running ads on Google.

At the time, I was completely broke after losing all of my money on the Forex.

So I decided to use a coupon for $100 on Google Adwords.

Once that coupon was finished, I then create another account, and used another coupon.

At the time, I didn't know that doing this would instantly lead to a suspension. By the end of 2012, I started mastering the art of creating accounts.

Eventually, I had a new account running, but I would need to buy pre-paid credit cards from the bank, and fill them with fake information, in order to advertise on Google.

I must have bought over 20 pre-paid cards of $500 each before deciding this was just a bit ridiculous (even the bank would not sell you more than 3 at a time).

Eventually, I got a new credit card with fresh billing information, and a VPS (virtual private server) from Amazon.

A Suspension Of My Life's Work

By 2013 to 2014, Pay per call marketing was on fire, and I was banking cash HARD.

During that same time, I managed to run over $120k USD in ad spend through the account.

By early 2014, I was in full travel mode through South East Asia, simply logging into my VPS, making a change or 2, logging out, and then continuing on my adventures.

But in March of 2014, I made the mistake of changing the location of my VPS (and login location), from the USA to Asia, and I got hit by the suspension hammer.

By this point, the main offer that everyone was crushing was Pay Per Call “Tech Support”, along with the much more dangerous PPV version.

Getting hit by a suspension, on an account you've generated SO much history, and SO many campaigns (close to 400 campaigns), was a VERY unpleasant hard uppercut to the stomach.

The Google Suspensions War

Nonetheless, from 2014-2016, I would continue to battle with Google on account creations:

  • get a new credit card,
  • a new domain,
  • create a new VPS,
  • create 10 accounts until one would work,
  • and build it up again into running whatever the latest trending offers were.

But over this time, Google would slowly, but surely start tracking violations and links between accounts much more aggressively.

By the end of 2017, I had an account generating $300-600 daily in profit, and while this was more than enough to enjoy life on, when the money is coming in, the chemical rush in your brain makes you take bigger risks and keep pushing the boundaries.

So one of the offers I tried bidding on was Airline travel calls… and this caused an insta-ban. But this ban was different…

A More Aggressive Suspension Algorithm

Now it was MUCH harder to create a fresh account with my previous method (new CC, VPS, domain, server, billing info, etc).

Furthermore, for every new credit card, I would need to figure out the cash flow, which was a pain in the ass: I would need to pay off a credit card by transferring money through 2 sources, and potentially losing money during the transfer, either through the exchange rate, or through transfer fees – this was obviously not ideal. Nonetheless, I would continue making accounts, and getting them suspended.

Still Gaming The System

By the end of 2018, I had taken a break from Pay Per Call, and decided to try my hand in Ecommerce with Cannabidiol (CBD) oils.

According to the Google Policies, running CBD offers was against their terms and conditions (even though CBD is almost 100% legal in the USA), yet it didn't lead to a suspension.

But their algorithms would scan my site, and determine that it was CBD related, and simply pause my offers, until all CBD-related content was removed.

So what did I do? I simply converted any instance of the word CBD oil into an image 😉

But, after a few weeks of getting away with this method, the account was suspended as well.

So I created another 10+ accounts with different strategies, but by this time, every account was suspended with no hesitation.

Suspension While on the Verge of Making $$$,$$$

While in Mexico in January of 2019, I created a new account, and managed to run a REALLY hot Ecommerce product, and started making good $$$.

But as soon as the account was billed a second time?, it was suspended for “Suspicious Billing information” – this was my mistake for using previously suspended billing information.

This suspension hurt, because it was the most recent, AND because this Ecommerce idea was the most legit, white-hat, growth potential idea I had run in a long time.

My friend who ran the same offer made $10k, while his buddy made $100k in the span of 1 month (I'm not sure about the profit).

I had imagined a future where I would no longer have to fight with google over account suspensions – but that was not to be.

This time, I pleaded with Google as much as I could to get this account unsuspended, because, it was creating a strong brand name… but every time was the same bullshit automated reply…

Thanks for your continued patience during this process. We’ve confirmed that your account is in violation of our Google Ads policies. Since this decision is final, the account will not be reinstated. Please avoid creating additional Google Ads accounts, as they will be subjected to the same suspension. Our support team will not be able to give you any more specifics on the suspension. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

I tried making new accounts, but the Google Algorithm was suspending every single attempt.

Part 2: Google Ads Suspension Help

For a week or 2, I felt hopelessly lost – not being able to grow this money maker, while my buddy continued to make dozens of sales per day.

So I looked far and wide and eventually found a source that ‘alleged' they could help.

Obviously, I was skeptical, but I went with it… anything that could save my new brand, or allow me to create a new account.

After submitting an email, they followed up with a few generic Google Ads suspension-related questions, and a payment option.

I wasn't sure what to make of it, but the source seemed legit, so I paid the fee, and waited.

The Waiting Game, Just Be Patient & Relax

After a few more follow-ups, and an evaluation of my site and Ad account, it was determined that I would need a fresh account.

So within a few days, a new account was setup for me, and I logged in without a VPS as recommended to me.

Then with complete fear at every step, I put in my billing information… both the billing information AND a credit card that has been suspended in the past. And still no red Suspension Banner… so then I plugged in my website, and created a few ads.

So far so good, then I looked at the ads and see the message “We can't determine why your ads aren't showing” – which, in my experience, was a way of Google saying, ‘your account has been suspended'.

I quickly messaged my agent, with hopelessness in my mind… and he just said, ‘it's ok, just be patient, relax'.

And We Are Now Back In Business

Surely enough, after a few hours, the account was running impressions, but then it paused again… then it started running again, and paused again…

After a day or 2 of this, the account was finally running properly, and since then, DESPITE not using a VPS, AND using suspended billing info, AND using a website from a suspended account… I have been able to safely, and cleanly run hundreds of $$$ through the new account!

The offer that I was running is no longer profitable, but I was still left me with a sense of relief, that I could finally get back to running my new brand without any issues.

Part 3: Try To Do No Harm (Buddhism)

If you've managed to read this entire article, thank you.

You now understand my story (atleast with Google Ads), and you've come to the part where YOU obviously need help.

Now, with the service I mentioned, they WILL help you, but you also need to help yourself.

If you want to get back in the game, and start running White Hat offers (anything and everything that isn't trying to scam people out of their money), then I really recommend this service. It's like a second life.

I personally don't intend to run Tech support offers, or Pay per call Travel offers, or try to game the system. You obviously have this choice.

But then there are those who will simply use this service to create another spike of success through shady measures, until they get suspended – each time making it more and more difficult to get back into the game.

In the Christian religion, “thou shalt not kill”, in this context, don't fuck around, but I recommend the Buddhism saying “try not to harm” – which means, try your best… because after all, we are just humans with emotional tendencies.

How To Fix A Google Ads Suspension

Update: I've stopped the service for now to focus on other projects.

Thanks For Taking the Time To Fill Out The Survey

I created this survey to find out what you've been up to.

When the big bucks started to roll in from affiliate Pay Per Call advertising, my mind was totally fine with short-term bursts of financial success.

That quick and easy affiliate money allowed me to travel to over 65+ countries, visit 140+ cities, and even live in about 10 countries for more than a month at a time.

But I'll be honest with you, I've been having a REALLY hard time transitioning from the non-stop World-Traveler, Hedonism-chasing of the last 7 years, to the more business-focused mindset that I had back in 2012 to 2014.

It's been a real pain in the a** to go from being cool with the occasional cash-grab offers and products, to an actual sustainable long-term growth mentality.

Some of you have been with me for the entire duration, while some of you joined along the way.

Thus, I was curious to find out how you, my fellow readers, had evolved over your journeys as well.

So let's dive into what YOU have been working on, and and ultimately your hopes and dreams for the end of 2019 into 2020.

Q1. How Long Have You Been In The Internet Marketing Sphere?

How Long Have You Been in the Internet Marketing Sphere?

I've personally been at this now for a good 7 years. But from the looks of it, most of you are already in your prime as well!

I would say, after 3-5 years, one can start considering themselves a guru within a narrow niche, or a “Jack of All Trades But A Master of None”, like myself 🙂

Q2. What Have You Been Working On in 2019?

What Have You Been Working on in 2019?

Just a day before writing this post, I literally had 7 projects on the go. The worst part of running 7 projects, is that I am running almost all the roles on my own, including Web development, E-commerce, SEM, SEO, Video advertising, Blogging, graphics development and everything in between.

From the looks of it, most of you are heavily in the Affiliate Marketing niche, making those big $$$ from helping other brands grow.

Being an affiliate marketer is DEFINITELY the best method of developing a solid, big-number passive income, to help you lead a the life that you want.

But, I've personally gone down the rabbit hole of creating my own brands, and focusing on their evolution.

Q3. In 2019, How Would You Say Your Internet Marketing Progress Is?

In 2019, How Would You Say Your Internet Marketing Progress Is?

Looks like most of you (roughly 60%) are in the startup + growth + solid business stages, so that's quite good!

But a few of you, about 30%, are in a rough transition, or still trying to find your next big pay day.

I'm can resonate with the one dude that said “Doing a lot of work, seeing little return”. That's usually how it is. It took well over 6+ months before my even decent pay days were coming in, and close to 1.5 years before I was able to laugh all the way to the bank, and begin my 7-year tour of the world.

I can only say, that even if it takes a while, you are STILL going to learn SO MUCH as you go along.

For everyone else in the solid growth numbers, we envy you (for the time being 😉

Q4. Do You Already Have Contractors / Employees?

Do You Already Have Contractors / Employees?

I'll tell you something… I managed to make a good multi 6 figures, all while being a solopreneur. It wasn't HARD, but it definitely involved playing AROUND the rules, more than playing with them and just a bit of luck (not much).

Yet, being a solopreneur can be a pain in the a**, if not impossible to build a scalable long-term business. Furthermore, most solopreneurs won't find success working alone (I was an exception as an affiliate marketer in a brand new high-potential niche).

On the other hand, I have friends who run 6-10 employee/contractor agencies, and for them, they can never escape the need to micro-manage their employees. In exchange, a few smart agency owners out there who manage to package their agency and sell tem, they can reap big paydays at the end of the hustle.

A good friend of mine, ran an agency for the longest time (over 6 years), and only in the last year did he finally start hitting $10-20k USD profit months.

Q5. What Is Your Current Monthly IM Budget? (Optional)

What Is Your Current Monthly Internet Marketing Budget?

This could be interpreted in different ways, but how I wanted to write this question was, how much you are CURRENTLY SPENDING on internet Marketing per month.

This question is not relative to ROI since some of you may be pulling in 20-30% ROI, while others 200-300%.

I would LOVE to be spending $10-20k USD per month again, but as a solopreneur, it's important to be conservative and slow, until you find a solid sustainable ROI.

In my Pay Per Call rampage days, I was pulling in a good $4K usd/day, on only $1.2K/day ad spend (ROI of 230%).

Another buddy of mine, who has never touched e-commerce or internet marketing in his life, now after only 3-4 months, does $150-200 usd profit, on a small $30-40 usd ad spend. He hasn't even started to increase his budget because he wants to keep things ultra-conservative.

Q6. What Do You Hope To Achieve By The End of 2019?

This question was simply a text-field, and you anonymously provided your hopes and dreams into the end of 2019 going into 2020. I've converted the keywords into a cloud 🙂

Your hopes and dreams

In Conclusion

For those of you have moderate to outstanding success, that's awesome! Sometimes the harder you work, the luckier you get.

While the amazing feeling of having big sums of cash deposited into your bank account eventually normalizes, having those big sums definitely doesn't NOT feel good 😉

For everyone else still on their journey, I can definitely resonate with the “working a lot, but nothing is working” frustration.

Eventually, I will post a bit about the projects that I've been working on, but for the time being they include 4 e-commerce projects, Premium23 Travel content, Premium23 Internet marketing content, and a supplement Product that I tried to develop in the last 3 months, that hit a major road block.

So for now, keep working your a** off, until something sticks, and then scale it to the moon 😉

Sincerely,

Your Internet Marketing Buddy

Leonidas

Hey again!
Recently, I put out a detailed analysis of how Google Ads was broken and basically burning our advertising dollars.

In the “Search Partners Black box” section, I wrote about how the Search Partner Networks on Google Ads & Microsoft Ads are a massive interstellar black-hole for our advertising dollars.

So using some simple web development and security knowledge, I decided to figure out WHO these Search Partners are.

Welcome Back!

If you are new to Pay Per Call Advertising, then this is the perfect guide for you!

Pay Per Call Advertising is one of the highest converting methods for selling something.

When speaking over the phone with a customer service representative, the probability of converting a caller into a buyer can range from 10-50% sometimes (based on my own advertising experience & data). On the other hand, with Ecommerce for example, the industry average is a 1-3% conversion rate (also based on my own Ecom experience).
